Our client is a well-established provider of instrumentation to the clinical/medical sectors. They provide customers with an extensive range or instrumentation (plus consumables) to support the diagnosis, analysis and treatment of patients. To support the growth of the business they are adding to their team by recruitment for an Account Manager to support customers across the territory.


The successful candidate will be home office based (but with regular site visits) and will be responsible for supporting nhs customers and providing the very highest levels of customer service. Supported by the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing supplier agreements, mainly involved in the source and supply of clinical and medical instrumentation/consumables across multiple divisions. You will take sole responsibility for working closely with the customer to understand their needs and delivering solutions to exceed their cost and quality expectations.


·         Territory Management to effectively manage all existing supplier agreements

·         Regular quality audits to all stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and they are happy with the quality of products and service delivery

·         Frequent site visits to discuss new instrumentation purchases and potential solutions

·         Be highly customer aware, responding to technical and/or sales enquires with urgency

·         Working closely with other internal departments to provide technical support and service requirements

·         Develop strong relationships with clients, KOL’s and key personnel across the accounts

·         Work closely with Operations Manager on all new tenders/contract renewals

·         Support bid team with tender applications


Our client is looking for candidates who are either degree educated in a life science discipline (Molecular/Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochem, Biomedical Science etc..) or medical/clinical professionals who are looking to move in a new customer focused career direction. Applicants will have a good knowledge of departments associated with the diagnosis and/or treatment of patients/conditions within a nhs setting. Previous experience working within the nhs (lab or hospital/clinic) would be highly advantageous but it not essential. This is not a sales position but required extensive customer contact and applicants must understand the importance of the highest level of service and the impact of developing future business.


The role requires a full UK driving licence and applicants must be prepared for regular visits to site (2-4 days per week). Applicants must be fluent in English (oral and written) and will have good presentation skills and will be an effective customer relationship manager. You will be passionate about delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction and will enjoy working to technical detail.
