Account Manager – Pathology/Biomedical Sciences

Territory: North UK 

Location: home office, ideally NE/Yorkshire

Salary: competitive plus car and bonus

Our client is a well-established provider of instrumentation to the clinical/medical sectors. They provide Pathology departments with an extensive range or instrumentation (plus consumables) to support the diagnosis and analysis of conditions diseases. To support the growth of the business they are adding to their team by recruitment for an Account Manager to support customers in the North East, Yorkshire and Scotland.

The successful candidate will be field based and will be responsible for winning supplier agreements and delivering customer satisfaction. Supported by the Regional Business Manager you will be responsible for managing supplier agreements, including winning and negotiating contract extensions. You will also take sole responsibility for working closely with the customer to understand their instrumentation needs and delivering solutions to exceed their cost and quality expectations. 

Territory Management to effectively manage all existing supplier agreements 

Regular quality audits to all stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and they are happy with the quality of products and service delivery

Frequent site visits to discuss new instrumentation purchases and potential solutions

Be highly customer aware, responding to technical and/or sales enquires with urgency

Working closely with other internal departments to provide technical support and service requirements

Develop strong relationships with clients, KOL’s and key personnel across the accounts

Work closely with the Regional Business Manager on all new tenders/contract renewals 

Support bid team with tender applications

Our client is looking for a degree educated (or equivalent) life scientist (Molecular/Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochem, Biomedical Science etc..) with a good hands on knowledge of instrumentation within a typical pathology lab. Previous experience working within an nhs lab would be highly advantageous but it not essential. Candidates will have had sales experience previously, ideally within a scientific arena although non-scientific sales experience would also be considered. 

A full UK driving licence is essential and applicants must be fluent in English (oral and written). You will have good presentation skills and will be an effective customer relationship manager. You will be passionate about delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction and will enjoy working to technical detail.
