Account Manager – Specialist Materials

Hybrid, reporting to Cambridgeshire office 1-2 days per week

 

Our client is a leading name in their field and are looking for an Account Manager to support the growth of the organisation through continued account development and new business activities across their global customer base. Working from their Head Office in Cambridgeshire 1-2 days per week and then from a home office on other days you’ll be networking with a range of academics, Researchers and industrial organisation. You’ll be working with internal colleagues to support sales development and closing. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed and dedicated sales professional who can add real value to an organisation and be a leading part in shaping the company’s on-going success.

 

You will have a broad range of responsibilities that is likely to include:

 

  • Network within existing customer base to retail and develop customer relationships
  • Use a range of research tools to identify industries, sectors and organisation for sales development
  • Lead generation and cultivation of new prospects
  • Work with the Technical Team to develop more complex sales opportunities
  • Exceed sales KPI’s for revenue, margin, profitability and client/prospect
  • Log all information on the company CRM system
  • Work with internal colleagues to design, plan and deliver targeted marketing campaigns

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Applications will be welcomed for experienced Scientific/Materials sales professions to early career scientists looking for a transition from industry through to a commercial role. In all cases, applicants must demonstrate their relevant experience and transferable skills (sales and technical) and their ambition and desire to be successful through their CV. There is a preference towards degree qualified Scientists/Engineers but non-degree candidates who have hands-on experience within the Scientific/Materials/Engineering sector are also welcomed.

 

Salaries will be dependent on the experience level but with a cap at £45K plus bonus for more experienced candidates.

 

Additional Experience required are:

 

  • Sales competencies: developing, influencing, negotiating and relationship building
  • Territory management
  • Customer visits (virtual and in-person)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ambition and results orientated
  • Sales experience (within the sector or transferable technical sales competencies)

 

 

 

 

 

 

There will be occasional need to travel to events, conferences and customer visits and this may include overseas trips and overnight stays
