Our client is a forward-thinking and passionate spin-out company from Cambridge University. They focus on developing prognostic tools to provide invaluable information to guide patient treatment plans for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Due to new pipelines and company expansion following from a successful funding campaign, they are looking to hire a Bioinformatics Software Developer, responsible for start-to-finish design and maintenance of a pipeline of cloud-based software tools.

 

The Role

This is a position for highly experienced software development scientists who have a strong background in regulated environments and significant exposure to IVD or other areas of medicine/medical devices. As a Bioinformatics Software Developer, you will be responsible for the complete design, maintenance and continual development of cloud-based software tools for prognostic Inflammatory Bowel Disease tests. If you have a strong desire to take a leading role in an up-and-coming diagnostics company and a passion for improving patients’ outcomes, then this could be the fulfilling and challenging role you desire.

 

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

·     Minimum of an MSc in Bioinformatics or Software Development related degree AND at least 3 years of industry experience within a medical device, healthcare diagnostics or drug discovery company.

·         Proven expertise in Software Development pipelines from start to finish.

·         Extensive knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C and Java.

·         Proven experience in use of UNIX operating systems.

·         Understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS.

·         Ideally previous ISO 13485 experience (although not a requirement, this would be very beneficial).

 

The Package

As this will be a leading role in an expanding company, they are willing to offer a salary of £50,000 and upwards, with the potential to grow organically with the business.  They also offer a competitive benefits package.
