Business Development Manager, CDMO

Location:               Home office (South UK preferred but not essential)

Salary:                    c£50-55K plus 50% bonus and overachievement accelerator


Taylorollinson are working with an established and expanding CDMO who are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager in a newly created role to support the continued growth of the organisation. The organisation has invested heavily in a state of the art manufacturing facility and have seen strong growth on the back of investing in its capabilities and technologies. Working from a home office and networking with clients internationally the successful Business Development Manager will take responsibility for the full sales cycle from lead generation through to prospect validation, technical evaluation through to contract negotiation. You’ll be working with a multifunctional team to support lead development through to sales. The successful candidate will be ideally based in the South UK, but applications would be considered from suitable candidates across the UK. There will be some UK travel involved but as customers will likely be Worldwide there will be a large amount of video meetings supported by attending international conferences/exhibitions and some international customer meetings.


Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

       Lead generation through online/offline marketing

       Following up on inbound enquiries to qualify and validation propositions

       Outbound proactive sales and business development activities

       Arrange meetings (online, customer sites, company HO) to support the development of opportunities

       Work with colleagues within the Sales Team and Technical functions to provide customers with technical and commercial information to scope out prospects and evaluated feasibility

       Effective territory management

       Attend Conferences and exhibitions to promote the business and prospect for new opportunities

       Occasional travel in-line with business/client requirements and schedule exhibitions


Your background:

       Degree qualified (or higher in a Life Sciences discipline)

       Proven sales and business development experience (2-3 years+)

       Knowledge and background in a CDMO or diagnostics or life science reagents

       Service sales experience

       Strong business networking and relationship building skills customer presentation

       Excellent communication skills

       Willingness to travel

       Fluent in English

       RTW in the UK

       UK driving license
