Business Development Manager - Life Sciences

Salary: £80-130K OTE

Reporting to the Global Life Science Sector Director, you will be responsible for generating new UK sales of their market-leading technical consulting and analytics services to their target market which is focused on the mid to large pharma/biotech/medtech and healthcare organisations.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for:

New and existing business development

Work on a consultative basis to identify pain points and establish value-added solutions

Build robust and strong collaborative relationships with customers

Manage long sales cycles, working consultatively to provide the information required to inform the customer and progress sales

Consult with technical staff to develop proposals that demonstrate an innovative approach

THis role would involve being office based when not out with customers so applications must be within easy access of the Oxfordshire office (or be happy to relocate).

Our client is looking for well qualified Life Scientists with a high degree of drive & motivation to be successful in this high-value sales arena. You will be qualified to degree level (although higher level qualifications would be advantageous) in a Life Science or related discipline. Candidates must have a proven background in sales and will be able to demonstrate an ability to manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to negotiation and closing. Your experience must have come from the Life Science/Pharma sector and you will have first-hand experience dealing with large Pharma and biotech organisations. Previous experience in solution sales would be desirable, as would a background in high-value sales and long sales cycles.
