Customer Support Specialist, Biomedical Instrumentation

Our client is a growing business focused on Laboratory Instrumentation for the clinical sector. They are looking to expand their team at their offices in South Wales by creating a new position for a Customer Support Specialist to their commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Biomedical Scientist with nhs lab experience and customer service experience to join an expanding organisation and market leader in its field.

As a Customer Support Specialist you will take responsibility for managing inbound enquiries from customers and field sales personnel. Enquiries are likely to be highly technical relating to instrument support, service and breakdown. The product is broad, focusing on pathology kit so the Customer Service Specialist must have hands on experience of using this type of kit. This role will be responsible for providing a highly efficient and customer focused approach to all enquiries and will involve extensive liaising with customers, sales and third party service organisations over the phone and via email. 

The main requirements of the position will include:

Deal with all customer enquiries and ensure appropriate and timely communication and response via telephone, email or face to face.

Provide basic troubleshooting on products and liaise with third party organisations to provide any advice and guidance required by the customer. 

Work with distributors and to solve customer problems

Liaise with sales teams to ensure the customer is kept informed throughout the process 

General requirements

This is an office based position but may require occasion travel throughout the UK. Applications are welcome from degree qualified (or equivalent experience) Biomedical/Pathology based scientists. You will be fluent in English with excellent communication skills (written and oral). You will enjoy engaging with customers and speaking about science. Previous experience in an office based, telephone orientated customer service or sales position is essential.
