Location: Cambridge
Contract: Full-Time and Permanent (Monday - Friday)

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience and interview performance)
Do you have experience in process development and downstream processing? We have an exciting opportunity available with a biotechnology company in Cambridge. Our client is looking to onboard a Scientist with prior industry experience who is ready to hit the ground running in a process development role.
PhD level (or above) applicants will not be considered.
The Role
As a Scientist within the Process Development team, you will be responsible for:
- Scaling up R&D downstream processes into larger scale manufacturing,
- Maintaining Quality Management System (QMS) documentation & creating / updating SOPs,
- Conducting validation operations, such as DNA synthesis & downstream purification and filtration.
Skills and Experience Needed
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Previous experience within downstream processing (e.g., chromatography, protein purification, AKTA, TFF) (essential)
- Expertise in process development and tech transfer (essential)
- Experience working in a GLP / GMP / ISO / GCP environment (essential)
- Existing UK work eligibility (essential)
- BSc / MSc or equivalent in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related life science field (essential)
- Previous laboratory experience, using techniques such as western blotting, DNA / RNA / protein extraction, qPCR, SDS-PAGE, electrophoresis (essential)
- Experience planning experiments and utilising Design of Experiments (DoE) (desired)
