Our client is a leading name in the supply of Instrumentation to the manufacturing sector. They supply many of the UK’s leading organisations including global Pharma/Biotech, laboratory, Food, Packaging companies. They have built a strong reputation for supplying customers with a very high quality product and after sales service. To help strengthen this they are recruiting a Field Service Technician to support customers within the territory.

Working from a home office, but being in the field with customers c4 days per week the successful candidate will need to plan their time to support all customers within their territory. This will involve excellent organisation, time management and territory planning. Whilst at customer’s sites you will be responsible for routine calibration, emergency repair and preventative maintenance.

The successful candidate must highly resourceful. You will be experienced in technical support and troubleshooting and will have excellent manual dexterity and have a passion for fixing instruments & devices. You will have a background in electronic/electrical fault finding and will have proven background with instrument calibration and repair. A previous background working with precision chemical/analytical instrumentation is preferred. Previous laboratory experience would be advantageous along with a background working in a manufacturing environment. You will be a confident character and comfortable working independently with customers to support their needs but also to work with the sales team to identify any potential business development opportunities.

Applications are welcome from Service Technicians/Engineers with experience of working with Instrumentation. You will be have a relevant electronic/electrical qualified (HNC level or above) backed up with relevant, recent industry experience. Candidates must be fluent in English (oral and written) and will have a full UK driving license. Whilst the position will predominately cover a specific territory, you may be required to cover other areas on occasions and this may result in some nights away from home.
