Our client is a specialist manufacturer of single-use applications for the bioprocessing sector and have created a new opportunity for a Global Product Manager/Field Marketing Specialist to take full Product Line responsibilities for their products targeted at the Cell & Gene Therapy market.

 

This is a highly technical position and requires an in depth knowledge of the bioprocessing sector with hands-on experience with single-use components for fluid transfer. It requires candidates with a commercial background who understand the principles of Product Management. Whilst previous hands-on Product Management experience would be ideal, applications are also encouraged from Sales/Applications/Marketing professionals who are looking to progress their career in Product Management.

 

This is truly a global position and you’ll be liaising with R&D & sales colleagues around the world to understand the needs of the CGT market, ensuring your portfolio address the requirements within the sector whilst developing new products/product innovations that will keep the portfolio at the forefront of the market. Working closely with clients you’ll need to be able to assess the competitor landscape, identifying any product weaknesses and providing R&D the information regarding to competitor applications and market trends. Product integration is critical within this sector so you’ll need to communicate with fellow GPM’s to ensure the company wide offerings provide a seamless solution to customers needs, but can also be integrated in to third party systems.

 

You’ll be expected to travel extensively and this will include regular international trips (US & Asia) along with domestic/European travel to local customers.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

 

  • Management of long to short-term business growth plans and budget
  • Drive Commercial and Product Excellence across your product portfolio
  • Full life cycle product management
  • Work closely with customers to identify and meet their product needs and innovate to support their challenges and future development plans
  • Develop a Portfolio and marketing mix to enable cross-selling across the entire company product portfolio
  • Works with supply chain on product availability to global customers
  • Analyses market trends, and competitor activity/products
  • Participates in contract negotiations with portfolio partners and 3rd part product suppliers
  • Prepare marketing, regulatory and technical material for commercial teams, customers and quality bodies
  • Support in-house teams with tenders/RFQ’s
  • Own the budget for your portfolio
  • Develops and maintain a commercial competitive price structure for different global markets
  • Represent the company at international conferences and Expos – giving presentations where appropriate

 

You will have the following expertise and qualifications: 

 

  • Proven experience in Product Management, Sales, Field Marketing or Application Sciences
  • Experience of managing a product portfolio and developing this in-line with collaboration with customers and colleagues
  • Commercially aware and experience of managing pricing within a global setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – fluent in English and any additional language skills would be advantageous
  • Good organization and time management skills, able to prioritise a busy workload
  • Strong Project Management skills and technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Professionalism and a high level of customer focus self-initiative
  • Entrepreneur and creative thinker
  • Able to build strong business relationships with colleagues and customers at all levels of seniority
