Life Science Sales Account Manager – Genetics/Genomics

Location: Office based from Oxford

Salary: £comp plus bonus

Their pioneering technology is supporting scientists to perform faster and more sophisticates assays to enable them to improve patient outcomes now and into the future. The role of a Life Science Sales Account Manager will be office based from their state-of-the-art facilities in Oxford. Working closely with colleagues in Field Sales and Technical Support this role will take responsibility for both the development of existing client relationships as well as looking to identify and nurture new business opportunities. The role will be highly scientific and requires a high degree of technical consultation with customers to identify the most appropriate products/consumables within the range and provide clear guidance on the features and benefits of the technologies. As a result, this position requires candidates with a confident character, who have a deep understanding of genetics and genomics but also with excellent people skills and an ability to develop strong rapport, build solid business relationships and close sales.

Reporting to Internal Sales Manager, the Life Science Sales Account Manager will take responsibility for:

Taking inbound sales calls from existing and new customers; identifying the opportunity and taking the lead in developing the sale

Outbound calls to existing customer to provide them with new product information of product innovations

Work with colleagues in Sales and Marketing to build and manage effective sales campaigns involving a variety of marketing techniques and taking a proactive role in following up on opportunities

Keeping abreast of developments within the sector, be aware of current research trends or innovations within clinical diagnostics and detection

Applications are encourage from:

Degree qualified (or equivalent industry lab experience) Scientists with excellent hands-on experience within genetics/genomics. Higher qualifications would be advantageous but aren’t essential. A lab background in genetics research would be preferred with a sound knowledge of sequencing. Previous sales experience is essential or candidates who are able to demonstrate transferable skills and competencies for Sales on their CV may also be considered. You will be fluent in English but a second European language would be extremely advantageous. Finally, but most importantly, candidates must have strong communication skills; you will have an excellent telephone manner and will be confident, sales/target orientated and will be motivated by success.
