Life Science Sales Specialist – Instrumentation

Territory: South UK (Cambridge and London focus)

An exciting opportunity has developed to work for a long-established organisation and leading name in Life Science Instrumentation who are looking to recruit a Sales Specialist to cover the South UK. Working from a home office, this role will involve engaging with globally respected companies and research institutions who are pushing the boundaries of clinical research and the development of tomorrow new medicines. Establishing nearly 50 years ago, the company developed a niche product range for the clinical research community and over the years it has added to their products and portfolio and now offer an enviable portfolio of bench top instrumentation to researchers including extensive imaging and microscopy specific instruments and add-ons.

This opportunity would suit an experienced, autonomous sales professional who has a proven track record selling into the Life Science research community. Specific experience with selling capital instrumentation is highly desirable along with knowledge of imaging/microscopy techniques used throughout early stage research. Candidates should be qualified to degree level in a relevant Life Science discipline or possess equivalent hands-on laboratory experience. Higher degree/PhD would be highly desirable. Applicants must have a full UK driving license and will be happy to travel throughout the territory. The focus for the position will be the research communities in/around London and Cambridge although the territory does include all parts of the South UK so further travel will be essential along with occasional overnight stays. In addition to managing a South UK territory, the successful candidate will also look after sales opportunities in the Scandinavia so some international travel will also be required (although this is expected to be occasional). Candidates must be fluent in English (oral and written) and whilst being able to communicate in a North European language would be useful, it is not essential.

The role will involve providing pre-/post- sales support to customers as the organisation prides themselves on providing a very high level of customer support throughout the consultative sales process. They are looking for an individual who shares their passion for Life Science research and can provide a knowledgeable, well informed service that enables their customers to make the most informed choices to fulfil their research needs.
