Territory: Northern England (North Midlands to Scottish borders)

Salary: competitive plus car allowance and good bonus

Our client is an international Instrumentation organisation who supply essential equipment to researchers and scientists across the Life Science, Academic, Pharma Biotech, Clinical and Biomedical sectors. Having established a client base across the UK through a distributor channel they are now looking to enter into the next stage of their growth by adding a direct approach. This is an exciting period for the organisation and presents a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, enthusiastic and success orientated individual to add real value and growth to the business.

As a Sales Specialist you will have the unique opportunity to apply your science background in a commercial environment and make a direct impact on sales and business revenue. The position requires you to be a well organised individual with good interpersonal skills and commercial flair. 

Applicants will ideally be qualified to PhD/MSc level but must have a BSc in a life sciences subject or they can prove exceptional equivalent experience in a Life Science Laboratory environment. Previous Scientific Sales experience is advantageous but applicants are also welcomed from individuals who can demonstrate an aptitude for Life Science Sales and pro-active desire to break into the sector. You must be able to demonstrate your transferable skills for sales on your CV.


MSc or PhD degree in a life sciences subject. 

Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Results orientated with a drive to meet business targets.

Excellent problem solving skills.

Your role:

You will be responsible for developing strong customer and key opinion leader relationships within existing and new accounts. You will work collaboratively with colleagues in the UK sales team to support and promote their range of instruments and equipment. You will be required to prospect and identify potential sales leads; to maintain and develop existing customer account business and to actively develop and foster new business. You will be required to perform product demonstrations, seminars, attend trade shows and user groups utilizing your in depth knowledge of company products, instruments and technologies. This is a consultative sales role and will require a great deal of customer care to facilitate the sales process in an informative and supportive manner along relatively long sales cycles.

Applicants must be fluent in English with excellent communication skills. You will have a full UK driver’s license.
