Medicinal Chemistry Lead – Protein Homeostasis

 

Location - Oxfordshire

 

Our client is a Pharmaceutical CRO based in Oxfordshire and specializes in providing drug discovery and development for highly effective therapeutics. As a global organization the company prides itself on it’s innovative approach and the use of leading technology to provide first-in-class and best-in-class pharmaceutical products.

 

Due to company growth an opportunity has now become available with their Innovation team to act as Chemistry Lead for Degrader Chemistry. The core responsibilities will be to lead projects providing innovative and creative solutions to drug discovery projects. This will involve working with multi-disciplinary teams across chemistry, biology, analytical sciences and DMPK. The role will not have any direct reports but will involve management of  projects and mentoring chemists.

 

The role will be measured on effective deliver of projects with core responsibilities including:

 

  • Develop and design strategy for building degredation platforms
  • Design and delivery of medicinal chemistry strategy through effective resource management and team leadership
  • Utilise medicinal chemistry expertise to influence target selection, drug molecule design & synthesis and DMPK profiles

 

Applicants will be expected to have:

 

  • Experience in designing and delivering small-molecule discovery projects
  • Familiarity with implementation of medicinal chemistry strategies
  • Thorough understanding of small-molecule drug discovery and development
  • Previous experience with targeted protein degredation
  • Strong communications skills and experience working across multi-disciplinary teams
  • PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or similar.

 

This is a senior-level appointment and as such offers an attractive salary and benefits package which would be based on experience.
