Operations Coordinator, Clinical Services

Location:             West London

Salary:                  c£35,000

Working hrs:      Permanent role working Monday to Friday covering normal office hours

 

Our client is an established and expanding life sciences business who offer vital services to the research communities around the globe in sourcing and suppling essential reagents. They are currently looking to recruit an Operations Coordinator to support the group Operations Manager in the day to day running of the lab in West London. The role will be site based, looking after a team of 15-20 staff and taking responsibility for operational management of the facility in the absence of the Group Operations Manager in addition for supporting the Laboratory Management in a hands-on lab role.

They are looking for a hands-on individual who enjoys project management and troubleshooting issues and someone who takes personal responsibility for the smooth running of a facility. They need a candidate who has excellent communication skills and prides themselves on open and clear communication at all levels of staff from Management to individuals within their team and customers/clients. They also need an individual who has experience working in a pathology, biomedical or life sciences laboratory and who can deputise for their part-time Lab Manager during busy periods.

 

The focus for this position will be to support the smooth and efficient running of the facility; working closely with the Operations Manager you will take responsibility for all aspects of the running of the facility and will need to step in for the Group Operations Manager who will be away from the facility on frequent occasions as they are responsiable for other sites and facilities within the group. Duties will include overseeing Lab operations, Phlebotomy clinic and personnel; shipping and dispatch of products and facilities management.

 

The company has built an excellent reputation for the highest levels of customer support and service and this role will take full responsibility for continuing to grow stakeholder satisfaction across all areas. A summary of the key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to supporting the Group Operations Manager in:

·         Managing customer orders, from collections, processing and delivery in a smooth, efficient and effective way, communicating to all stakeholders where there are any issues or delays in any part of the process.

·         Coordinating team operations

·         Raise critical issues with senior management

·         Ensure stock levels are in-line with the demands of the operations team, spotting trends and acting proactively to ensure there is always appropriate levels of consumables and reagents to manage operations

·         Celebrate best practise and implementing initiatives and processes to improve the operational performance and customer/client experiences

·         Deputising for the Lab Manager in their absence and performing  occasional lab tasks during busy periods

·         Managing any facilities issues and liaising with contractors as required

 

The successful candidate will have:

·         Previous Biomedical, pathology or Life Science laboratory experience

·         Some experience in Lab/Operational Management

·         Hands-on management or team supervisory role

·         Positive, proactive can-do attitude

·         Managing and/or implementing quality standards (ideally ISO9001)

·         Some experience of project management or troubleshooting
