Process Development Scientist / Senior Scientist

Location – Norwich

Sector – Biotechnology

 

Our client is a specialist biotechnology company that offer contract services surrounding biologically derived products. Ranging from bio-therapeutics to natural products, they use state-of-the-art technologies to purify various proteins at a range of different scales. They are now looking for both a Process Development Scientist and Senior Scientist to join their premises in Norwich on a full-time and permanent basis.

 

The Role

This is a role for individuals with experience in downstream process development within an industry setting.  As a Process Development Scientist / Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for the development and optimisation of downstream purification processes for various protein-based products. You will also facilitate both purification scale-up and commercial viability within this role. All of this will be done whilst maintaining high levels of safety standards whilst cooperating within a team.

 

Skills and Experience Needed

Suitable Applicants will have:    

 

  • A degree in Biochemistry or another relevant field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in protein purification – Preferably within a CMO or Bio-pharmaceutical setting.
  • Experience in multiple purification techniques including: AKTA, FPLC, SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting and filtrations.
  • An enthusiastic approach to their work, with a strong problem-solving skillset and “outside of the box” thinking.
  • The ability to work efficiently within a team-based environment.
