Product Specialist, Chromatography

Territory: Midlands and North (home office based with travel)

NOTE: this is a 12 month contract

We are excited to be working with a leading name in chromatography to recruit for a Technical Product Specialist. The successful candidate will be working with a well-respected organisation to support customers looking for product advice, guidance and help with technical enquires relating to the purchase of chromatography consumables and reagents. This role will be customer facing and will be the link between the sales team and the customer to provide specialist knowledge and advice to customers. The role would suit a highly experienced chromatography with a strong background in LC applications. You will have several years’ experience in development roles and will have a strong background in method development and validation. Previous experience working in/with drug discovery and/or organic synthesis departments to analyse samples would be highly beneficial.

Whilst providing technical advice and guidance to customers, this role is essentially a customer focused, sales orientated position so applicants must be confident interacting with customers with a view to progressing and closing sales. In addition you will be responsible for attending industry events, seminars and exhibitions to network and develop relationships with potential new customers. This role will often require giving talks and presentations so applicants must be confident in these surroundings.

The role will be home office based covering a broad territory across the Midlands and North of the country and you can expect to be out with customers 3-4 days per week with the requirement for overnight stays. You will work closely with Account Managers across the territory to achieve joint sales targets so applicants must have strong team working skills.

Applications are welcome from degree qualified chemists (or similar) with several years industry experience. You will have several years’ experience in new method development, technical troubleshooting and method validation with LC and GC applications. Previous experience working with/for synthetic development departments would be beneficial. In addition, you will have excellent communication skills, will be fluent in English and will be confident speaking with customers and giving technical presentations. A full UK driving license is essential.
