Location: Office based from London with 20-25% travel
Exciting opportunity for an experienced sales manager to join a global market leader in the trading of chemicals across the EMEA. This unique opportunity which has been created through an internal promotion would suit an ambitious individual who is looking to develop their career in chemical sales trading with a market leader in the sector. You’ll be working from a London based office and developing commercial opportunities for commodity chemicals across manufacturers and suppliers across the EMEA. The role will also include working closely with international colleagues to develop and deliver on global commercial opportunities.
The role would suit a degree qualified chemist or business graduate with 3yrs+ commercial experience in commodity sales (ideally chemicals or related). You will have a track record in chemical sales or trading and will have strong business acumen and an ability to set a strategic vision and forecast and develop a strategy to deliver on this opportunity. Strong communication skills and relationship building skills are essential for this role and the successful candidate must be able to work alone as well as working with international colleagues to deliver successful outcomes for the organisation. You will be highly organised with the ability to manage lots of different trades at an point and be able to co-ordinate associates activities such as setting/managing budgets; coordinating import/export licences, organising shipping/logistics etc.. whilst keeping a close eye on budgets, revenue generation and profitability. Candidates must be fluent in English but a second European language would be beneficial (but not critical) and will have excellent communication, negotiation and customer relationship building skills. A proactive, forward thinking attitude is a must along with business management skills (budgeting, strategic planning, commercial). You will also be highly numerate with strong IT skills and will ideally have experience of working across the EMEA. A UK driving license is also required for this position.
