Scientific Customer Support Assistant

Location: Sussex

Salary: £19,000

An exciting opportunity has developed with an innovative, niche supplier of Life Science reagents to researchers worldwide. Working from the companies European Head Offices in Sussex, this exciting opportunity would suit an enthusiastic Scientist who is looking for a busy role supporting customers rather than working in a lab. This office based role will involve responding to inbound enquiries from customers with regards to product selection, technical support and providing advice and guidance. Day to day responsibilities will include a wide range of customer support and administrative activities including (but not limited to):

Respond promptly to any customer enquiry and aim to achieve 100% customer satisfaction

Assist Business Development team to provide information to support sales

Sales order processing and admin to ensure all relevant shipping/logistics/usage documentation is completed and kept up to date

Champion customer service, actively support QA 

Work closely with Administration & Warehouse Teams to provide a seamless service

Promote the image and interests of the company whenever possible

Plan, organise and control your workload to support Business Development

To provide service excellence for all stakeholders

Ensure all Customer communication and Supplier communication for the entire product range is responded to and processed accurately and in a timely manner

Ensure product information is kept up to date 

Chase and update Customer estimates

Seek customer feedback and ensure this is shared internally to support product/service development

Occasional customer visits with the Business Development team 

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Life Sciences and ideally educated to degree level in a relevant Life Science discipline, although applications will be considered from non-degree level scientists but who have worked in a customer or administrative function within a technical scientific or health related business. You will be a confident communicator and will be fluent in English and will be happy with frequent customer contact via Phone and Email. The successful candidate MUST have a background working in a busy office environment and will enjoy the tasks associated with customer support and office administration. This is a non-lab based role but will involve talking with scientists about scientific products so would suite somebody looking for commercial career in the scientific sector.
