Exciting opportunities for a bench chemists who is looking to escape the lab in favour of an office based, customer focused position promoting a range of chemistry based lab instrumentation, reagents and consumables to industry. This role would suit a chemist with industry lab experience and excellent communication skills who enjoys talking science and engaging with customers to explore sales opportunities. No previous sales experience is required but applicants must be confident in their ability to work in sales and understands the challenges and benefits of a commercial career and are keen to embark on a new challenge in a competitive but rewarding environment.
Our client sells a market leading range of consumables and reagents for Analytical chemistry that have a worldwide reputation for their products and services. To support the growth of the organisations that are looking to recruit a Scientific Sales Executives to sell their market leading products to clients within the Pharma, chemical, biotech, environmental, academic and related industries. Although mainly office based, the successful candidate will also spend time in the field meeting their clients and developing existing relationships and nurturing new business opportunities.
To be successful; you will be a degree qualified (or with equivalent industrial lab experience) in Analytical Chemistry or closely related field with a good hands-on knowledge of a range of analytical chemistry techniques (ICP, GC, HPLC, LC, UV, IR etc..). You will have a passion for your science; have a genuine interest in analytical chemistry and developments within the sector and you will enjoy and be confident in talking with individuals about analytical chemistry. Previous sales experience is not essential but candidates must be able to demonstrate on their CV transferable sales skills gained throughout their academic or work history and must be able to convince me that you have a genuine desire to begin a career in Scientific Sales. Previous industry experience within an analytical chemistry lab would be highly advantageous.
Candidates will be based in the Essex/East London area; will be fluent in English (oral and written), will have a confident telephone manner and will be happy to work in a telephone based sales environment making a high number of outbound sales calls. You must have full entitlement to take a permanent employment in the UK.
