Location: Field & Office based (numerous UK office locations)

A world leading data science and AI consultancy are looking to recruit a (Snr) Business Development Manager with proven success selling consultancy and analytics services to broader energy sector.

The Role

Reporting to the Divisional Director the successful candidate will generating new sales for the organisations of its technical and consultancy software based solutions. Focusing on mid to large Energy organisations with particular focus on European regulated companies alongside other industrial and public energy organisations. This will be achieved both within the UK and European markets. 

Responsibilities:

Generate, develop and close opportunities with new customers

Be able to understand the technical challenges within the potential customers, particularly focused around big data challenges where there is an unmet need for greater analysis and clarity

Build solid long term relationships with stakeholders and be able to network at all levels within an organisation

Develop innovative proposals (with support of technical team). Typical sale value is £50,000 to £5Mil

Collaborate with sales and marketing functions to build an effective strategy to develop opportunities

Work with teams across the entire group to share leads, opportunities and x-sell capabilities

Wining business can be complex and result in long and technical driven negotiations which can take some time to close so applicants must be able to display effective influencing skills and will have the tenacity and patience to develop opportunities to successful conclusion and sale.

The candidates profile:

Driven, highly motivated, success focused team player

Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline 

Several years’ proven technical sales experience (solution, consultancy/SaaS based).

Strong relationships building skills, able to influence and lean complex negotiations 

Detail orientated and able to create complex proposals

An understanding and experience working within the oil & gas, energy, power and utilities sectors

Excellent written/verbal communication skills
