TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER

Location: Home office based (in the UK)

Territory: UK

Salary: £competitive plus car and annual bonus

Our client is a leading global supplier of chemicals to the FMCG, Personal Care, Coatings and associated markets. They have multiple worldwide offices and manufacturing facilities and have a global workforce of highly skilled chemists, engineers and support teams that formulate and develop an enviable range of speciality chemicals that are used in the manufacturing of a vast array of products.

They are expanding their global Sales Team by recruiting a Technical Sales Manager for the UK. This will be a customer focused role and will take the lead in selling the company’s range of speciality chemicals to the UK market. Working from a home office but being in the field for 4 days/wk and covering the UK, this exciting new role would suit an experienced Speciality Chemical Sales specialist with a Chemistry or Chemical Engineering academic background. 

The successful candidate will have a high degree of autonomy in the role; they will be responsible for planning their sales and marketing strategy, identifying key and strategic accounts and setting a territory plan to deliver their strategy to exceed sales targets. This will be a highly consultative role so the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of chemistry and will work closely with their clients; providing technical support when necessary and ensuring there are delivering a very high level of customer service along with an exceptional product.

Applications are sought from degree level Chemists or Chemical Engineers (or with equivalent lab experience) with at least 4 years field based sales experience selling speciality and/or performance chemicals to a UK market. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a technical competency in chemistry and a deep knowledge of the chemicals industry in the UK and will be well networked with manufacturers within the Personal care, FMCG, plastics, chemical additives, coatings, textiles, paper and related sectors. You will be fluent in English with excellent communication skills and you will have a full UK driving license and will be happy to manage a large territory with regular nights away from home.
