Technical Support Specialist (Trainee or Experienced)

Our client is a world leading instrumentation organisation that has enjoyed rapid growth over the last few years. Due to continued investment and expansion they are looking to recruit a Technical Support Specialist to join their customer support team. Working from the companies head office in Cambridgeshire, this exciting role offers the perfect introduction into a career in engineering or instrumentation for an enthusiastic candidate with a bright and inquisitive mind. Alternatively, the company are happy to recruit an individual with proven experience in a similar role who are looking for a new challenging with an expanding organisation. The successful candidate will work with a close-knit team of support engineers/scientists and will continue to provide customers with prompt and high quality technical support.

Full training will be provided on the full range of sensor based instrumentation the company manufactures and supports. You will develop skills in technical support, customer relations, technical writing, marketing and more; enabling you to enhance your technical knowledge and how to solve technical and engineering problems faced by customers.

Responsibilities

Respond to technical questions, providing troubleshooting via email or phone

Hands-on testing of product performance

feedback customer comments internally to support product development

Maintain a good knowledge of product and supporting literature

Office based with occasional customer visits (with experience in role/with instruments) 

Candidate Requirements

Excellent communication skills, highly enthusiastic

Passion for science and/or engineering

Self-starter, dedicated, focused and committed

Excellent attention to detail and take pride in work quality

Fluent in English (oral and written)

Keen interest in troubleshooting and technical problem solving

1+ years’ experience in a similar role would be preferred, but not essential

A good educational background in an engineering or physical science discipline, with a background knowledge of chemistry, physics or computer science
