Location - Oxfordshire
Our client is an innovative chemicals company, based in Oxfordshire, and focusses on the research and development of chemicals for improved sustainability.
An opportunity has now become available for an experienced Process Chemistry professional to join the company on a permanent basis.
As a Lead Process Chemist, you will play an operational role in both the development and improvement of cutting-edge manufacturing processes. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and improve operational processes, working closely with the laboratory and pilot plant. Drawing upon your expertise in chemical engineering and process optimisation, you will contribute to the development of new products and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Driving process improvement both internally and off-site functions
- Leading pilot plant trials and reviewing project cost and efficiency.
- Supporting NPD (new product development) projects from the laboratory to commercial production
- Sourcing raw materials and components to facilitate projects and improve effectiveness
- Leading pilot plant production, workload efficiency and improvements.
Suitable applicants will ideally have:
- Proven experience in process engineering and optimisation within the chemical manufacturing or production industry
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of process safety principles, including hazard analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong commercial awareness and technology transfer with a track record of successfully leading process improvement projects, delivering tangible results.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply innovative thinking to complex challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience coaching an R&D team
