Job title: Certified Phlebotomist

Contract: Full-time 40 hr per week. Permanent contract.

Shift:

 

  • 07:00 – 15:30: Mondays to Wednesdays typically.
  • 08:00 – 16:30: Thursdays and Fridays typically, and occasionally on other days as needed.

Salary: £26000 - £27000

Location: White City, London

Start date: 01/04/2026 or sooner

The company is a leading IRB-approved laboratory service provider specialising in human blood and biological specimens. Their products are handled in compliance with the HTA UK regulations. Over the years, they have helped the research community in advancing the development of novel therapeutics and IVD assays. In a phase of growth, they are hiring a Trained Phlebotomist to join the team on a full-time and permanent basis. If you hold a certificate of competency in phlebotomy and have at least 6 months of post-certification experience, this could be of interest.

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform phlebotomy responsibilities by blood collection through venepuncture.
  • Create a welcoming and safe environment for the donors, ensuring the best customer experience.
  • Conduct pre-donation screening to qualify donors following IRB protocols and SOPs. Checking donor welfare through these procedures.
  • Handle donor samples and consent according to the HTA regulations.
  • Review and maintain donor records with high accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Prepare samples for shipping, ensuring the correct labelling of samples.
  • Perform periodic calibration and maintenance activities, such as equipment cleaning and stock checks.

Essential criteria

 

  • Must be a certified phlebotomist.
  • Must have at least 6 months of post-certification experience working as a phlebotomist and have performed venepuncture on donors or patients.
  • Proven experience in creating a safe and welcoming environment for donors.
  • Ability to work in a team with clear communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office software.

Desirable

Experience using wider needles (16/18G).

Work eligibility

No visa sponsorship. Must have an indefinite right to work in the UK.
