Salary – £35,000 - £45,000 (depending on interview performance & experience)

We are currently offering the opportunity for a Senior ICP-MS Analyst to join a UKAS-accredited laboratory which specialise in the analysis of environment samples, such as water and soil.
This role is well suited to someone with extensive experience leading and managing ICP-MS analytical operations, in compliance with UKAS / ISO 17025.

The Role
As a Senior ICP-MS Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day operation of ICP-MS and CV-AFS – operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Sample analysis in compliance with UKAS / ISO 17025.
- ICP-MS method development & validation.
- Management and mentoring of junior chemists.
- Reviewing of analytical results & non-conformances.
Current / Recent Experience Required:
- 4+ years of prior experience working within an analytical chemistry laboratory, analysing environmental samples, such as water and soil (essential).
- ICP-MS expertise – including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and training of junior chemists (essential).
- Experience with ICP-MS method development & validation (essential).
- Expertise in UKAS / ISO 17025 regulations (essential).
- Prior experience managing or mentoring junior scientists (essential).
- A degree in Chemistry or a related subject (desirable).
- Experience with using CV-AFS to detect mercury content in environmental samples (desirable).
Profile Required:
- Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
- Happy to commute / relocate to Bedford (essential).
