Salary – £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on interview performance & experience)
Full time, permanent role
We are currently offering the opportunity for a Development Chemist to join a company based in Cambridgeshire which produce specialised chemicals used in various products, including medicines and electronics.
In this role, you will develop and scale up chemical processes, transition products from lab research into full manufacturing, and support distillation and production activities.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
Due to the remote location of the role, only applicants with a valid driving licence and car access will be considered.
The Role
As a Development Chemist, you will be responsible for:
- Small scale production and distillations up to 20L,
- Operation of distillation units up to 100L,
- Process development and scale-up of lab research into full manufacturing,
- Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving,
- Collaboration with other departments, including research, QC, and production.
Current / Recent Experience Required:
- Hands-on experience working with distillation units (essential).
- Experience handling hazardous chemicals (essential).
- Experience with troubleshooting within a chemical plant or pilot plant environment (essential).
- Experience with analytical techniques, such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, and Karl Fischer (desirable).
- A chemistry-related degree, ideally related to organic or process chemistry (desirable).
Profile Required:
- Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
- Happy to commute / relocate to Cambridgeshire (essential).
- A valid driving licence & access to a car due to the remote location of the role (essential).
